If You’ve Ever Felt Like the World Moves Too Fast…
If you've ever felt like the world moves too fast, your mind won’t slow down, or you don’t quite fit in—this is for you. Yoga isn't an exercise regime for me—it offers a wealth of tools and techniques to support you in everyday life, and I want to share that with you.
Tapas- cultivating discipline and transformation in your yoga practice.
Delicious but no.
A different kind of tapas.... but this image is actually really relevant. I'm referring to a discipline within Patanjali's Eight Limbs of yoga (if you've not heard of this don't worry- there will be a future email and more covering this). Tapas is described in the second Limb: The Niyamas, which are internal codes for living, recommendations if you like, for a more harmonious life. Tapas is a loving discipline, keeping the practitioner on track toward self-mastery and inner transformation.
Journaling
In a world that is filled with so many responsibilities and distractions, it is easy to lose touch with our innermost thoughts and feelings and just "get on with it." Journaling is a simple yet profound practice that has the power to bring clarity, insight and a sense of calm back into our lives.
Embracing New Beginnings: Cultivating Courage and Inner Wisdom
Do you ever feel like the rest of the world knows what to do and you just don't belong,
feel lost, overwhelmed or like you have no purpose?
Or maybe you're full of ideas but don't have the time,
energy or confidence to actually go and do them?
I do.
✨Are you magic?✨
I have always felt like there's something deep inside me that wants to get out, to be free. A natural talent perhaps such as singer, artist or pianist... Or maybe a mathematical genius or even just someone who can remember what they've just been told!!!!!
Embrace the Journey: Overcoming Weight Issues and Self-Consciousness with Yin Yoga
In a society that often places great emphasis on appearance, weight issues and self-consciousness can be significant hurdles to overcome. However, the practice of Yin Yoga offers a transformative journey towards self-acceptance, inner healing, and a deeper connection with your body.
Chair Yoga for immobility and chronic pain
Are you in pain? Is chronic pain affecting your ability to sleep, think and remember? Fibromyalgia causes muscles to shorten and get stuck in a tense position, resulting in pain. Jacob Teitelbaum MD of the National Fibromyalgia Center tells us: "One of the beauties of yoga for people with Fibromyalgia is that it returns muscles to their natural length."
The "all or nothing" mindset
This is something I have always struggled with. Maybe it's the perfectionist in me? The number of times I have started a new project, a new diet or health routine only to find I forgot or just couldn't stick to it and once the run was broken I just gave up. I mean, what's the point in carrying on now- I've screwed up, ruined it, why bother, I'm clearly not able to do this!
Chair Yoga
What on earth is chair yoga???
Laura Green defines chair yoga as "a style of yoga which is easily adapted to the needs of each student or community. It can be an entirely seated practice or incorporate standing poses using a chair for support and stability."
I am and I can
It's taken a fair few months of imagining, dreaming, believing, manifesting, creating and loving. There have been tears along the way but mostly joy in making this happen, watching this unfold right in my back garden.
I'm so happy!
Last night was a real landmark-moment for me. I launched a new class in a new venue and for a few hours the anxiety ramped up and i began questioning myself: will anyone show up? If they do will they like my teaching style? What if they don't enjoy the experience and never come again?????
Why is this so hard!?
I started this website and blog page to share with you my passion and gratitude for yoga and how I have made some huge changes in order to share my learning with others... yet here I am struggling to convey anything at all. Every time I sit down to add a post I cannot seem to find the most inspiring quote or ancient nugget of wisdom.....to choose the right photo or think of the suggested 'catchy title'. So here I go- just writing what comes out of my thoughts.
What have I done!!????
Basically, I've completely destroyed our garden! But with a plan!!!! A desire for peace, privacy and a place to practice yoga.
Our garden has always been the space outside the back door- a space to play, laugh, learn and love.
